Hi, I am a photographer and journalist based in London, driven by a deep interest in exploring the intersections of race, gender, identity, migration, and the impacts of climate change and armed conflict. As the founder of VX Pictures, I take great pride in being an influential figure in the field of visual journalism, focusing on conflict reporting, ethical practices, and fostering entrepreneurship.

I am proud to be one of the leading educators in the visual journalism industry, focusing on conflict reporting, ethics, and entrepreneurship.

My work has been showcased in esteemed news outlets like The New York Times, The New Yorker, TIME Magazine, WSJ, and Bloomberg. Additionally, I have contributed to reputable British newspapers such as The Guardian, The Times, and Sunday Times of London. With a strong presence in renowned European publications including Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Paris Match, Le Monde, and La Republica, I have also had the privilege of working with esteemed broadcasters like CNN, Al Jazeera, DW, and BBC.

1. Why this, why now?

Unfortunately, in recent years, newspapers have veered away from providing well-researched, balanced information to their readers. Instead, they often seek to reinforce established opinions and policies, compromising the quality of news reporting. I find this unacceptable. Therefore, I have created this Substack to share my own perspectives and generate independent income, allowing me to shed light on issues that concern us all.

2. What kind of community am I looking to build here?

The community I aim to build here is one that encompasses a diverse readership, ranging from individuals who seek an outsider's perspective on human, civil, and political rights and liberties to those interested in current international affairs that have the potential to impact our quality of life and the well-being of people we care about, regardless of their location. I am committed to discussing the effects of governmental policies, whether they are detrimental or beneficial, on the lives of individuals around the world.

In addition to these topics, I will also delve into the subject of news reporting quality, emphasizing the importance of press freedom. Furthermore, as we progress, I will gradually share glimpses into my personal life, including experiences related to conflict reporting during times of war, as well as aspects such as dating.

I believe that by fostering a community of engaged readers who are passionate about these subjects, we can create meaningful discussions, broaden our perspectives, and work towards a more informed and compassionate world.
