Unveiling the Shadows: My Journalistic Battle Against Aggression and Censorship

In the month of May, my curiosity led me to delve into the Twitter musings of Berat Buzhala, a former corrupt politician from Kosovo who had aligned himself with the infamous "Criminal Mafia Boss" Hashim Thaçi. Thaçi, a former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), had risen through the ranks to become the Prime Minister of Kosovo, then the Foreign Affairs Minister, and ultimately the President. However, his tenure as President came to an abrupt halt due to allegations of crimes and war crimes against humanity. The Hague demanded his presence at the Court for justice to be served and the claims to be thoroughly examined.

While this article does not primarily revolve around Thaçi, it is crucial to provide readers with the necessary context. On June 10th, 2023, I published a meticulously researched and thought-provoking piece centred on Berat Buzhala, which is included below.

Subsequent to its publication, I found myself subjected to a barrage of orchestrated assaults, attacks, personal insults, and even death threats from numerous accounts, some with verifiable identities and the majority without. I promptly penned an article addressing these incidents, which was published on June 12th as seen below.

In London, I am joined by a group of colleagues, some of whom are aspiring journalists under my mentorship. Together, we meticulously analyze the significant developments pertaining to Serbia's ongoing constitutional and territorial aggression against Kosovo. We bear witness to a scenario where Kosovo, as an independent and internationally recognized republic, is simply defending its right to self-defence against a foreign aggressor, Serbia, which has been engaging in unconstitutional and territorial encroachments. Regrettably, certain EU and US diplomats and envoys appear to appease and enable the aggression of Serbia, which is aligned with the Kremlin. To bring attention to these pressing matters, we have crafted multiple articles, and Twitter has proven to be a valuable tool for disseminating this information to our readers.

During our endeavours, we stumbled upon a Twitter account with the handle @kos_data. It quickly became evident that this account, while occasionally disseminating accurate information, would readily engage in enabling and pushing Serbia's propaganda machinery by spreading misinformation whenever it served Serbia’s interests. Intrigued by their tactics, we decided to devote additional time to observing and documenting their operations in order to expose their methods to a wider audience.

As an experiment, I intentionally provoked a reaction from them through a tweet. Consulting with my colleagues in London, we believed that if our exposure hit the mark, they would react; otherwise, they would disregard us.

As fate would have it, we attracted their attention, and they responded with panic. In less than seven days, they secretly mobilized a campaign to report my Twitter account, resulting in its suspension.

However, I, along with THE FRONTLINER Magazine, have directly engaged with Twitter, escalated the appeal process, and have diligently been working to not only reinstate my account but also seek further recourse.

It has come to public attention that Leart Ajvazaj, whose family is associated with PDK, a former ruling party accused of looting Kosovo for two decades, is the mastermind behind the "ChatGPT Journalist" campaign. This campaign aimed to discredit both me and my journalistic work, which focuses on exposing organized crime networks in Kosovo and those supporting Serbia's political discourse against Kosovo. Ajvazaj's involvement in this campaign has been thoroughly documented. Interestingly, it has been observed and documented that Ajvazaj's reaction, along with his use of fake accounts like "Leon Trotsky," consistently occurs whenever I challenge Berat Buzhala. Buzhala, a former MP who was voted out, is known for his questionable financial backing for his national outlet. Although the source of funding remains unclear, it is evident that Buzhala staunchly supports political narratives that facilitate Serbia's aggression in Kosovo. The information gathered points towards a disturbing connection between Ajvazaj, the "ChatGPT Journalist" campaign, and efforts to undermine the work I do in exposing crime networks and advocating for Kosovo's rights. As a journalist, my commitment to truth and accuracy remains unwavering, and I will continue to shed light on such matters to keep the public informed.
